Chew Valley Public Meeting

10th June 2013, Old School Room, South Parade, Chew Magna, 7-9pm

Local group Frack Free Chew Valley is convening a meeting to be held in the Old School Room in Chew Manga on the 10th June 2013 between 7pm and 9pm. The purpose of the meeting is to further raise awareness about the prospect of unconventional gas exploration and development in the Chew Valley with presentations from concerned local consultants and Frack Free Somerset.

It is hard to know what to think about energy and unconventional gas from the deluge of conflicting information on fracking, shale resources, gas prices and climate change in the media. The presentations will attempt to cut through the media spin to provide an informed view of the energy/climate backstory, to provide a background to unconventional gas and to provide also an informed view of the local geology specific to the area and its suitability, or not, for coalbed methane development.

All Parish Councils in the Chew Valley are invited to the meeting together with other interested parties.
