Public meeting in Radstock

A public meeting took place in Radstock last Wednesday the 20th, as part of the Frack Free February month of action. Organised in collaboration with Radstock Action Group, the attendees were interested to know more about fracking and how it could affect their area.

Frack Off gave a presentation, as well as Frack Free Somerset, before a group discussion took place exploring potential next steps.

With so many local campaigns taking place, against roads and supermarkets and more, new energy will be needed to raise awareness about fracking locally. Due to its local geology, Radstock is a high risk place for coal bed methane extraction, heightening risks of air & water pollution as well as health impacts.

If you have the time or energy to dedicate time to organising in Radstock please email info@frackfreesomerset.org – we can give you local contacts, resources & anything else you need to get started. With more than 30 local groups now part of the coalition, we can give you support every step of the way.
